MODEL/YEAR(S): 2003-2004 ENGINE SIZE: 6.0L Outfitted with a new upgraded housing that cures the infamous "back plate wear-out" with the original design. Typically these pumps will support 190cc or smaller (stock) injector rather well. Each pump is flow tested to ensure no leaks or dead on arrival pumps to our customers, and comes with a test flow result sheet. Also includes a Genuine Ford® OEM o-ring install kit. PLEASE SEE DOCUMENTS TAB FOR CORE RETURN FORM AND INSTRUCTIONS. 1 year unlimited miles warranty from date of purchase.

      We are having a bear of a time trying to get cores back from customers. We only have so many in the loop, so if we don't get them back, we can't rebuild and restock our shelf.

      If anyone following this thread, we are buying cores.

      I wouldn't buy one.

      Here is the DieselSite web site: Notice that HE gets it correct and states that it is for 03-04.5. Lots of people have wasted money on this mistake.

      Failure mechanism in the 03-04 HPOP's - and possible "fix":​
      Failure areas:​
      03-04.5 HPOP issues include a housing weakness (back plate wear-out) and swash plate issues (a light press fit is intended to hold the swash plate in place but apparently they can spin and cause failure). Also, there is documentation on rotating cylinder cracking. Wikipedia states that the gears were weak and cracked.​

      I answered that above. You have an 03. The DieselSite pump or the CnCFab pump. If you don't care for that advice, then try your own and keep us updated once a year.

      $676 is marginally over the cost of am OEM remanned pump. The minimal amount more would be eaten up quickly by a repeat job.

      Personally, I have the money and wouldn't mind spending it on the DieselSite pump. I have kept up with a few users that installed it and they have a number of years under their belt with no issues. That said, the CNCFab pump is cheaper and also has a good reputation.

      Several of the weak areas of an early 6.0L HPOP have been discussed a fair bit - going back to 2011. The only people acknowledging that changes need to be made in the original design are the two companies mentioned above. Their pumps have a great reputation with the forum people that have tried them.

      If you don't buy into the hours and hours of following and researching the topic as a few of us have, then roll up your sleeves and start searching.
