Nitto Ridge Grappler - Mounting Problems

So, Im sitting at my installer, waiting to get my new Ridge Grapplers installed. I informed them that these tires have multiple sidewalls and I wanted the block sidewall facing out. The installer pushed back and said that they couldnt do that, because the DOT code must be facing out...? After a short debate, they agreed to mount them the way that I asked, but were reluctant.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Is it really a concern for any reason to mount that way?

Unless something has recently changed, I am unaware of any regulations that state the DOT number stamped on a tire must face outwards.
