Bring a 250 up to 350 capacity?

I have read here and there that the only dif between an F250 and 350 is an extra leaf spring in the 350 rear. Adding the extra spring to the 250 will bring cargo capacity to 350 specs. True or false? Thank you. Edit.. my truck is 2018 F250, 6.7

False. The braking system is different as well as the rear axel.

For an F250 one would need the F-250 TRAILER TOW PACKAGE HIGH CAPACITY (535) to get the physical parts close to the same as an F350.

You "could" swap on F350 springs, but it's not really worth the work unless the springs are super cheap.

Airbags would be your best choice.

Truck has tow pack, snowplow prep and high capacity package. There is an extra overload spring, and I believe the HCPP includes the same axel as the 350. Looking at 5th wheel towing. Trailer pinweights are up there, lol. Airbags are a leveling tool, dont increase payload capacity as I understand their application.

Just so you know....there is a payload sticker on your truck. That's not going to change either....SO....what are you really wanting to do again? You want to increase payload, yet have almost all the same physical parts to be the same as a F350 SRW truck. OH...yea....that sticker says you are limited to weight...... right.......

Okay...so to give you an answer:

Adding the extra spring to the 250 will bring cargo capacity to 350 specs. True or false?
FALSE....cause a door sticker says so.

As I stated before.....the physical parts are there to make the F250 load rating the same as an F350.....BUTT (not that big, but big enough butt).....that sticker says you are limited to 10k. Is it sinking in yet????

OK back to the OP's question

my 2 cents = in the olden days of 2011 - the only difference was a block height and a payload sticker

so what all is different on the new 350 ? aside from the sticker

if the braking system is different does anyone know what parts ? just caliper and shoes or ?

is the rear axlea different unit ( i seem to remember reading that)

springs ? what just a leaf or overload ?
