Dropping from a 7 to 4.5" icon

I am wanting to go smaller. Stupidly I had a 4.5 to start with and ended up buying a 7" icon and selling the 4.5

I'm trying to remember what all I will need to swap. There wasn't a bunch of stuff to do if I remember.

I know I should need a different pitman arm
Different springs
Shocks
And smaller OUO rear block for my traction bars.
I have pmf 3-link arms up front.
Any thing else?

Sounds like you have it figured out.

In most cases you would need a stock pitman arm and track bar drop bracket and then run an adjustable track bar if you don't already have one.

Obviously shorter coils, shocks, and rear blocks would be needed. Then just some adjustments and alignment.

I have the icon adjustable track bar also.
Do they make a pitman arm for 4.5" lifts or is it not needed

The 4.5" Icon kits do not spec a drop pitman. Just make sure you aren't using the old track bar bracket from the 7" kit with a stock height pitman.

Perfect,

Adjustable track bar using the stock track bar bracket and pitman arm is the way to go at that height.

It's been fine. When I bought mine I had to pay extra for the heim joint upgrade. It's been on my truck for 80000 miles and has worked great. It gets rid of the rubber bushings like the OEM has.

I'd recommend the 3-link arms over everything. It improved my steering allowing castor to be set more positive then spec.

What coil springs and shocks should I go with.
I had the icon 4.5 and they seemed a lot stiffer then their 7" coils. I have PMF 3-link and OUO rear blocks now. Unsure about shocks

Also do I have to put a stock pitman arm back in if I'm still at 4.5" of lift vs the 7" icon.?
