Nice! I have always loved that gen R1. Looks super clean. What exhaust are you planning on going with?

The 'daily driver' is a '09 Kaw Concours 14. Only difference between this pic and now is about 30,000 miles, a set of Projekt D Aerowings, and the addition of a 2-bros slip-on.

The 'little bike' is an '08 Ninja 250 currently in track form. Taped over headlight and removed the mirrors since this pic, and have added an Area-P full system.

Previously had an '02 Superhawk, an '01 CBR600F4i (track only), an '81 Seca 750, an '01 V-Star Custom 650, and a '76 KZ750. Also paid for (and rode) the ex's GZ250, V-star Custom, and Ducati Monster 620. The Superhawk got sold with ~42k miles on it (bought new), and the also bought new C14 currently has ~53k on it, so I'd say I ride a bit. That said, with a 2-y/o and 4-y/o running around at the house, my opportunities to get out to the track have been pretty limited... so I'm prepping the Ninjette for sale. The C14 isn't going anywhere, since it's a LOT cheaper to drive to work than the 6.4. Plus, here in CA I can lane-split, so my commute time is very consistent.

i persoanlly hate the new gen r1’s. I was going to go with akrapovic but the yoshimura trc-d is about 400$ cheaper so im gonna do that and a graves no-cat link pipe. Then a bazzaz with afr probe and high flow filter to top it all off. I heard i should get the ecu flashed by superbikes unlimited so that will be in the works as well.

I have heard a lot of people say they don't like the new gen R1. I love mine. I love the way it looks and it handles better then my R6 did with almost twice the power. I will probably pick up the previous gen R1 eventually just to add to my collection one day.

Here is my 2015 (again after a few new mods)
Ohlins TTx Shock
Ohlins FKR-100 fork cartridges
Power Commander
Translogic quick shifter/auto blipper
Full Graves exhaust
ABS delete
Brembo 19RCS Master
Vortex rearsets
Core Moto brake lines
Fast Franks quick change rear axle

dont get me wrong, i love the platform just not how it looks haha. The front end with the underslung lights and no more dual exhaust was something i couldnt get over. But it did shave weight and add cooling for the track lovers (such as yourself). Did you ever consider the r1m? Also how do you like the one lever braking for front and rear brakes now? Thats something i saw that i wouldnt think i could wrap my head around hahah!

Yeah I get the headlights on the new gen. Luckily mine are just stickers that I can take off if I want haha. I actually like the single exhaust. The one issue I had with my 06 R1 was the heat from the exhaust. I considered the R1M but my buddy bought one and ended up taking all the electronic suspension off and replacing it with regular Ohlins so I went with just a regular R1. As far as braking goes I never rode it with the stock setup. I basically ripped all the ABS crap out and changed lines and front master before I even threw a leg over it. I had most of the stuff already but I will say that Brembo master is amazing. If I wasn't on the track I probably wouldn't spend the money but for track riding you can't beat it.
