Less than 1/4 acre in the middle of Silicone Valley. Purchased the 1947 built home in 1995 for $230,000. Fast forward to 2018 and a neighbors slightly smaller house was just purchased for $1,200,000. I drove by the house last week and it was gone. New owner demolished it and scraped the lot bare. There is a crazy amount of “Google” money pouring into this area. I can not wait to sell my place in 2 years and move to a larger and much more affordable location. What does an acre of land go for in your neck of the woods? My new neighbors who ever they may be better like firearms, my whole family loves hunting and shooting.

Check his screen name out hehe. I'm on 1/4 of acre in Washington state renting but own 22.5 acres in Montana butted up against 600 acres of BLM land on dead end road. Can't seem to break away from this payday loan I mean rent to get my travel trailer out there with two horses a tractor and truck camper. Hopefully next spring as I'm still building the 5th wheel travel trailer I am bringing out there that will laugh at Montana's winters.
Yeah it's 40' HC shipping container I think I lost my marbles

Marbles? What marbles? That is an ambitious project you have going there, good luck with it. If the winters in Montana are anything like the winters in Wyoming the only thing I see laughing is Mother Nature! Hunted in Wyoming January of 2017 and it was wicked cold, colder than anytime in the 2 years I spent on Kodiak Island.

I've got a tiny average Phoenix valley lot measured in square feet instead of acres. A 30 minute drive from me is hundreds of thousands of open BLM land and state trust land.

As soon as I can get my wife to cooperate, we'll be off grid on at least 40 acres of land in a place that has 4 seasons. Being married and cooperation, I'll more than likely end up in a smaller lot in the vicinity of Los Angeles.

About 15 miles NE of Sacramento, Ca, I live on just under 1 acre. Most lots near me are 1 to 2 acres. Our property is on a 4-lane road so it's not out in the "country," ('civilization' is only a couple miles away north or south ), but it's home - it's nice to spreadout a little. With traffic only getting 'bad' in the evening and the occasional speed demon or evel knevel blowing past the house, it's relatively quiet here.

Ah off grid living, I'm headed that direction too. Nearest neighbor is 2 miles away, nearest paved road is 20 miles and nearest city is 30 miles. No power runs to where I am don't ask for water either and there needs to be pigeons to get signal back and forth for internet hehe. Grab that 40 acres pay it off and plop a house on it claim your piece of America you served for!
