|SMOKEYBEAR||Snagged a 7.3 Excursion, going through it little by little. Needs a few more things before I put it on the road. So far new headlights, grill, 2008 F350 rear bumper, oil and filter, fuel filter, a few Riff Raff products, leveling kit, all new bump stops and sway bar bushings. I'm searching for a front bumper without over paying for one then wheels and tires. Gauges and PHP down the road. It could use some new front seat cushions and covers...but I'm casually looking for an Eddie Bower interior. I'm basically setting it up like my F350, just smaller.|

|hansel||Took off the door badges on the dually, want to give it a different look. So should I go with something similar as old or go for the new badge design?|

My hobby activity is National Corvette Restorers Society, and my interest in Corvettes is the C4 Generation. 1984-1996. I have a 1985 I bought new, and have taken it through the NCRS System to the highest concourse award they have. I towed it to several events with a 460 gasser E250 van. 5.5 MPG, slow, no power, not a lot of fun, but sleeping accommodations weren't bad.
In 2013, my long time friend decided to purchase a new truck, and asked me if I was interested in purchasing his 99. I without hesitation said "yes". What I didn't realize at the time was that with the capability of towing so effortlessly, I was going to come up with new things to do with my 85 in NCRS because now I could get it to events. I entered it in other awards over 4 years and towed it to events all over the country. I had a blast. But the 85 is done. After 21 events over 11 years, there's nothing more to do with it.
So I bought another C4 this summer, and went to SC and picked it up. I'm not going to do as much with it as I did with the 85, but it is still a cool car, and will keep me busy and broke for a couple of years. Here I am with it this evening in my friend's garage in Reno, prepping (cleaning) it for its first event on Thursday. Her son and his girlfriend popped in to check things out. My friend snapped the pic.
My Super Duty's capabilities are responsible for being able to pursue this craziness.

I will give a big SHOUT OUT!!!!! to KC turbo's, I can't speak highly enough about the turbo I bought from them and how well it performs. Truck manages the hills and mountains here in the NE Georgia and Carolina area easier than when it had a stock turbo. Averaged just over 11mpg towing our 10K 5th wheel, also a shout out to Corey at CNCFab for the fast shipping of the oil crossover line.

I'm sitting here on the couch in Reno looking out the window at the truck with frost on its windshield. We haven't had below mid 60's in SoCal for months, and now last night low 30's in Reno. Seriously, today I'll drive the truck to Walmart and buy a jacket. I didn't even think about September weather up here not being the same as SoCal.
Had a delightful trip up yesterday. Truck ran perfectly as usual, towed the trailer at 62 MPH with no fanfare, almost no traffic. Had some crazy weather across Washoe Valley, and got a little low on fuel because of headwinds. Put 56.5 Gal in a 58 Gal tank. New record. I kept telling myself that if I ran out of fuel with a 58 Gal tank, I'm real dumb-$hit.

Lol works for me. We looked all summer for a 5th wheel toyhauler and couldn't find one. This will do for at least one summer and allow us to look more. To be honest I think im just gonna buy like a 18ft plus enclosed trailer and install a bed, toilet, and some lights. I can build everything id need and spend 1/3 less than a large enough 5th wheel. Wont be as fancy but add a window, nice bed, private bathroom and fold up the bed when we leave and load the side by side in.
I looked at a truck camper and the super hitch with a trailer, 5th/bumper pull trailers, and nothing has been big enough lately hahaha.
But since summer is nearing the end we'll see what I come up with.
