I'm sitting here on the couch in Reno looking out the window at the truck with frost on its windshield. We haven't had below mid 60's in SoCal for months, and now last night low 30's in Reno. Seriously, today I'll drive the truck to Walmart and buy a jacket. I didn't even think about September weather up here not being the same as SoCal.
Had a delightful trip up yesterday. Truck ran perfectly as usual, towed the trailer at 62 MPH with no fanfare, almost no traffic. Had some crazy weather across Washoe Valley, and got a little low on fuel because of headwinds. Put 56.5 Gal in a 58 Gal tank. New record. I kept telling myself that if I ran out of fuel with a 58 Gal tank, I'm real dumb-$hit.

Lol works for me. We looked all summer for a 5th wheel toyhauler and couldn't find one. This will do for at least one summer and allow us to look more. To be honest I think im just gonna buy like a 18ft plus enclosed trailer and install a bed, toilet, and some lights. I can build everything id need and spend 1/3 less than a large enough 5th wheel. Wont be as fancy but add a window, nice bed, private bathroom and fold up the bed when we leave and load the side by side in.
I looked at a truck camper and the super hitch with a trailer, 5th/bumper pull trailers, and nothing has been big enough lately hahaha.
But since summer is nearing the end we'll see what I come up with.

Nothing like late summer camping trips... originally I wanted to cut two strips of plywood lengthwise but had a huge brain fart and did not want to run to Home Depot again for more crappy wood. so now I have 4 pieces haha.|

Got mine through the car wash the other day, then ended up going into a mudhole right after turning a corner.
Anyone know why Ford is now saying to use Mercon LV instead of Mercon V for the transmission and T-case? I just checked Motorcraft's site and it says DON'T use LV where Mercon V is recommended and it is not for use in t-cases. I have the manual trans, too.

|DaveP.||I'm leaving on another trip Monday 0-dark-thirty to Reno and take the car I picked up in So Carolina this summer to its first show in Lake Tahoe next Thursday. I worked on the car most of the day cleaning the engine bay and undercarriage. I made a lot of progress. Got out there this evening and changed the oil in the Super Duty. I was overdue for a change on my already extended change interval, I didn't want to go another 1,500 miles. I'll wash the truck in the morning, get the trailer out, and stage the rig tomorrow afternoon. Busy, busy.|
