From what I've read on Google/Youtube, there are two things involved. 1) the TPS, 2) an "Off-Idle" switch. The off-idle switch triggers to let the truck use the TPS to make the engine change RPMs. If the off-idle switch doesn't not trigger, the truck stays at idle. Right or wrong, I decided to replace the whole assembly.
My brothers '99 started having the same issues with TPS. After seeing the price for new setup we decided to try cleaning it. Removed whole pedal assembly and used compressed air and a little WD-40. It's been about 4 yrs and no problems.

The truck is stock except exhaust. I have a lot of dirt roads here in South Georgia so I want to keep the stock intake.

forthehalibut Been busy the last month--not been on here in a while. Got my truck towed to a local shop today to see why it still won't turn over. Thinking it might be the HPOP is shot.

Paul_R7.3 Installed two new batteries. Costco Interstate group 65's, 850 cca. The old ones were 4 years old but tested good. Unfortunately they were underrated at only 675 cca. Cranked really slow when cold. Started right up but cranked slow enough to make me not want to take it anywhere that's actually cold. Spins right up now.

SuperCrutyPS Tomorrow, I'm taking the truck over to have a 4 shoes moved to other feet.

It's the first time for these tires (bought them about 5K ago (give or take)). I like how they're wearing so far. I like the wet-weather traction so far too. They seem to stick way better than the Toyo OC ATIIs I wore out, even when they were new.

EDIT (Saturday): DONE! I like the shop. They give you a report @ the end. The tread is good, the brake pads are @ 10mm, they torqued the lugs to 150 ft-lbs and the shocks aren't leaking.
