djmaguire I was just looking at some pics online to see what that nipple looked like close-up before coming back and reading what @Hydro wrote. ...and @Hydro is right!

I'm thinking that it's either his nipple replacement procedure or a replacement intake. With people doing ported intake mods, OEMs are easy to come by.

Hydro or just tap the hole out to 1/8 pipe threads and be done with it -- the fitting can be from your hardware or auto parts store -- couple of bucks -- shop vac with the hose reversed(pressure) on the intake inlet while you drill and tap the threads -- wear your eye protection

what you are referring to is a drive in fitting -- kind of a cheap way for the factory to tap the manifold -- you can use a tapered punch to swell the fitting and get a better fit(Loctite to seal), but threads are much more trouble free in the long run

rikitikitavi Thank you for all the help. I ordered the part from A ford dealer 2 states over, wasn't even that expensive, but there is no hex or threading on it it just looks like a free nipple, the package says connector . Thanks so much on the help so far on this, I'm thinking I may need to start calling local junkyards to see which has any of the 6.0L, then I can just snag the part myself.

voodooridr The Ford number is a 3C3Z-9A474-AA but unfortunately it's an obsolete number now
There a few of them at dealerships around the country

SparkyF250 @voodooridr can find the part number, @fordsvtparts will sell you one

djmaguire We need that third photo in focus. You can buy a replacement nipple, but the issue - IMHO - is how much hoopjumping you are going to have to do to get what's still in there out.

If you still have the hex portion on the nipple portion in the intake, you will be able to remove it with the appropriate wrench. If not, I would probably heat up the surrounding area and go after it with an EZout.

@fordsvtparts can help you with the replacement nipple.

rikitikitavi That is definitely missing. You wouldn't happen to have a part number/link to buy one of those?

rikitikitavi unfortunately I cannot tell , Poor lighting and I don't have something to stick in there to find out.

SparkyF250 Are there any threads left in the manifold, that nipple is supposed to be threaded and it screws into the intake

rikitikitavi Here are some pictures of it one with it plugged into the manifold one with the end of the hose with clamp and one with the manifold without it plugged in.
