john galt they used to use salt in Tahoe but got switched to dirt and basically dg (decomposeed granite) and while it does add to corrosion just by building up and holding water against the metal bits its NOTHING like the salt they used to use
i have a 73 one ton ex military subrban that is so damn rusted out if you slam a door somepart is going to fall off thing has half a million miles on it and if it werent for the slam the brakes and the body isnt going to stop factor...i would still drive it across country...
loved that truck but when i crawled under to replace the h yoke and looked up and said..that aint right and pulled the body mount right off it...
well yea its parked.
that thing is part of the reason i paint the underside of my truck every spring and fall.
i have been a bit too laxed about that last couple years i need to order up a bunch more paint and get under there soonish alonog with another 6 to 8 cords of wood dropped cut split and stacked in the shed and the new diesel fired heater installed and a second for back up and some siding replaced and the driveway redone and...
i cant seem to keep up anymore

oh and i need about another thousand buks for the rest of the parts i want to swap out on the truck and the caddy before winter
wat the hell a i doin on the forum i should be out with a flashlight working on something

mhatlen I’ve seen it in a documentary that mine is in a dimension of Gulivers Travels. Crazy how land can just bury a sea bed like that.

I guess I’m praying for a well driller to put in a research well in the wrong spot of Erie and poke a little 4” hole through the mines ceiling.

ALL FIXED: THAT WOULD KINK UNDERWEAR ACROSS THE ENTIRE SALT BELT.

9 tons Midwest

I like the thoughts where all the snivelerís circle the capital. Like fish in a bucket
You guys a fully automatic state by any chance ? . . lol
One of the biggest salt mine in the country is under Lake Erie, salt is way cheap so they feel they have to use it.

Ohio puts way too much salt down. My 6.0 has never been salted and I'm not gonna start. It goes in the garage every winter.

Our spring is a couple hundred yard downhill from the road. Every winter our water gets too salty to drink. I had to drill a well just to have decent water year round. Can't find a decent used vehicle that isn't rotted out. If they didn't salt, all the cry babies who don't know how to drive would descend on the capital and have a major meltdown.

They spray brine before a snow or ice event here, then top it off with salt when the snow hits.

Thatís done constantly when the snow flys. That salt shlt doesnít just disappear into thin air itís ALL right there along the roads and water tributaries that move some of it that way.

Damn that F-ing up who knows how many life forms and creatures with every right to be here as you and I. Minus the rats & snakes.
Itís bad medicine people. I say F that shlt you need to take a drive slow your happy azz down or chain up or hoof it!!
Or pick up you blocks and move on.

I canít believe that environmental devastating craziness is allowed. The sheer volume thatís just dumped blows me away.

Ok got that out in the open and off my chest. Wheeeeew.

Oh yea canít forget trying to dump some guilt on someone:
Shame on you fellers in the salt dumping states, itís all your fault.

I think I need to start smoking the devils weed. Debbie Downers maybe.

They say it's not corrosive though, yeah right. I worked at a truck shop that did maintenance on the spray trucks in Spokane, they were the worst for rot any where that stuff touched
