I did the intank mod like he talks about with the kit from ITP. It sure made my motor quite down and it added a second filter. I would do it again on any truck I own.

The pressure regulator mod is talked about on here. I think there is a post in the tech files about it.

I am watching that now. Looks like a ton of work and I have never seen anyone talk about it before. Wonder if the good it does is worth it? yes I agree, more flow = better, but how much better?

Maybe someone can chime in here? strokin, marty, CSI, scuffy?

Why is what I have to ask. I ran a fuel pressure gauge on stock injectors with a stock fuel system and did not notice any fuel pressure problems. 2psi drop is all I would get at WOT. I still have those same stock banjo bolts in my truck and I have B code injectors, I see a 0psi drop in fuel pressure at WOT.

Again I will have to ask, why? I just don't see the need. It can't hurt anything as long is you don't mess anything up doing it. My one concern is drilling the holes out and breaking it on reinstalling the banjo bolt. Plus I fairly confident that if you do the math, the 4 stock 1/8" holes outflow the 1/4" outlet in the banjo bolt.

i thought is was to help with turbulence as the fuel is going through the holes and coming out the other side, resulting in a better flow to the injectors. it should make the pressure drop because it would (in theory) allow more fuel to the rails, so the pressure in the filter bowl would drop while trying keep up with the extra flow

i just did the fuel filter plunger thingy? i have a fuel pressure gauge and the frp mod and it made my pressure go up a little bit and i dont plan on starting it without a filter in it so why not take it out? i am also going to drill the holes in the 2 plugs in the heads tommarow and see what that does? i am all about the free mods!!!

ok i wil my gauge is the defuser kit and its hooked up at the fuel filter bowl,i got it when i was paying with the fuel pressure regulator shims, works good

i did the fuel filter housing mod,and i tried the plugs in the heads but i cant get to the back passenger one cause i have a 4" down pipe and the rachet wont fit!!!! the down pipe was a ***** to get on there and i am nor going to remove it for this little mod??,ill just dp chip it and leave it alone and drive it,and when i want to get a 4-dr and have 500+hp ill get a dodge!!!!!!haha for real.

Like I said in my earlier post, this mod is not necessary. You don't need to use those fuel ports to make 500hp. The 1/8" NPT supply ports on the top of the heads are just fine. The bigger thing is getting rid of the stock fittings and the POS check valves.

where are those check valve fittings and what do they do?

If you take the stock fuel line off, you will find a small check valve attached to the head. In side it has a 3/32" hole that fuel flows through. You can take the guts out of the valve and put it all back together. Or you can make new fuel lines(like I did) using #4-1/8" NPT JIC fittings and new #4 stainless braided hoses.

Here is a fitting I used on the head:

Here is the fuel bowl with the #4 jic - 1/8" NPT fittings in it:

what line is it i can i take the guts out of?

#23 ·
It is the stock fitting where the fuel line goes into the heads. Passenger side rear and driver side front. Take the lines off, pull the fittings, gut the fittings, put fittings back in, install fuel lines with NEW vibra lock O-rings(available from dealer).

#24 ·
do i have to use the new vibra lock o-rings?

Don't go cheep when it comes to the fuel lines. Especially when the rear one is under the turbo down pipe, a leak could be catastrophic.

Yes, they can be reused and they might even seal.

#27 ·
It is not a power mod, it is a supporting mod.

#28 ·
yea i looked at the lines today and that back one is going to be a ***** to get too,i wish i would have done these things before i put my 5" exhaust on!!

I did my fuel mods to my truck when I put in my turbo. I also took the down pipe out and it was a piece of cake.
