I was also curious, do u still have a 6.0 and what mileage do u have on it, how well has it held up for you, i just had a bunch of work done to mine, the bullet proofing, and wanted to know what to expect out of the life of the motor 205k on mine, if it's likely it will blow up in 5 miles i don't want to buy a new tranny but i got my truck on a loan and still paying for it and had lot's of bad luck but i still like it's power/ towing ability and the feel to drive so it's worth it to me but i joined this site to figure what people have seen longevity wise after bulletproofing cause i haven't heard or seen anyone talk about their truck they just bulletproofed and how it was holding up afterward. =) any input u add would be nice just. if you have any questions or need further explanation i will do my best to keep in touch, thanks again so far you have helped a lot.

I live i'm MN so i honestly don't know of any super well known shops around me most shops i do know send to ford and or offer a **** warranty with a stock rebuild for built prices, is there any that are close or out of MN that are reputable i don't mind driving 1000 miles if it means it's done right and has a good warranty. thanks for the info so far, i'm actually about a 2hr drive from ficm repair and have been referred to them they seem cool i just need to allocate a plan and money i'm a college student so i'm not making 40K a year so if i buy something i want it to last.

My recommendation is go with the one that is closest to you as if by chance there is a problem you dont have to ship it half way across the country. Warren and Red diamond work very close together and they are pushing the 5r110 further and further. Each of them have their own websites. I believe Sam Wyse you need to contact through one of the members on here. I will look it up and post it for you. Or any of the ford dealers for their remans. I would kind of stay away from the ATS or suncoast. I talked to both of them and i didnt feel confident in the purchase.

Ok so for a complete trans there is definitely a bunch of options. As you can see I have a Andy Warren trans. Now he doesnt do as many in house builds now but I am close and deal with Jesse Warren a good bit which helped also. Some dont like him but mine is doing great now. Had a funny shifting problem but both Andy and Jesse didnt stop helping till we got it fixed and I got to watch him build it on the spot and help put it in at their shop. So there is Warren, Red-Diamond, Sam Wyse, then some bigger companys like ATS or Suncoast. All are similarly built. Their basic trans will have upgraded clutches and the basic weak points addressed. As you up the options you are basically adding billet pieces to the inside. Then there is a Ford reman trans as well which will work good if you plan on keeping the mods fairly mild. They will still handle around 500rwhp and have decent warranty.

For repairs some say you can try a modified direct drive clutch solenoid as it will apply more pressure and that's what helps the 3-5 flare. That's about the only thing you can try to solve it unless there is something funny with the tunes your running. Different trucks definitely act different with different tunes. Ficm repair sells them witch is a good place as well as some other places. Not horrible price either if it helps. Figure like $100 to $130 for solenoid and fluid for the trans.

Well mine had the flare between 3-5 when i bought the truck. Now I started adding power mods as it was studded when I bought it. Mine was definitely worse when changing my tunes be it the sct tunes or my custom tunes. Now I did find one thing that seemed to help with mine for awhile. I only changed the tunes with the trans warmed up. Every time you switch tunes you need to let the trans relearn and when mine would start re-learning with the trans warm the flare was drastically diminished. So I got my truck to almost 600rwhp and 1000rwft. The trans lasted about another year at that power level and I towed with it also. What did mine in was towing heavy up some mountain passes. It went down hill real quick. Fluid got burnt and wouldn't hardly shift.

Hey i noticed in an earlier thread about transmissions, the 5r110, you said if the trans mission is experiencing flaring between 3-5 to rebuild, i may have that problem and was wondering what you know causes this and how quickly will this fail and if you could go into more detail info with your experience with this problem, i don't have 4k sitting in my sock drawer and need to know what a good response to it is besides rebuilding like how long would you estimate before failure, and i was curious if you have any recommendations for a new tc and built tranny, i need a transmission that will be worth the money it's my dd so i don't need a sun coast comp but i plan on future upgrades, my truck is studded, just re-maned heads, bosh hpop, brand new victor gaskets, radiator, the works, stock turbo, tuned with sct x4 7015, and custom tunes from gear head automotive.
