Please help on 05 f250 6.0l. First the caliper broke, replaced it. Still had drag and grabbing. Former owner figured it must be the hub, replaced that. Brakes have been properly bled, new brake shoes.
Is it a 4x4, I've heard of a bad axle u-joint going bad and grabbing in turns even with the hubs unlocked.
What brand caliper did you use? The only "new" ones I've found were the Raybestos
Ayup, had the bad axle joint thing on my 06 -- thought the steering box was going out cause it would pull from side to side seemingly at random -- one direction on the joint was really tight and binding
What fixed it temporarily was to lock the hubs in manual -- had to replace the joint, but at least could drive the truck for a few days till the weekend
It is a 4X4 - I'll check out the front axle U-Joint next, also thinking the rotor may have warped when the caliper busted. Just gotta get it up in the air on a dry day.
