My email reply:

Hello,

From what we are told nothing is really changing, this whole deal has been going on for years and is just now coming to light due to news reports etc. I wouldnt worry about any issues on a 6.0. Those units work pretty good on those trucks

As far as update we always recommend updating however on a 6.0 more than likely out of the box should be no issue

Thanks

Justin

This is just another way the Fed and the Libs are taking away our freedoms. I've said for years that there should not be an EPA at all. Way before Trump said anything about it. I could name off several other Federal bureaucracies that need to go as well. What's disturbing about this is they are punishing a company for having "the ability" to turn off emissions equipment in their software. This is akin to so many other what I call "preventative" laws that are getting passed almost daily. (ie. open container laws, 21 to buy a gun laws, etc.) If they keep going like this, there will be nothing that isn't illegal in some form or fashion. They are making new criminals everyday out of law abiding citizens. While those that delete or turn off emissions systems aren't exactly following the law, the sentiment is the same.

Draining the swamp is more important now than ever before and not just because SCT/Bullydog got nipped by the EPA.

It's very "Minority Report" or Orwell's "1984". You are guilty because you can do it and you thought about doing it.

@G8orFord and @The Evil Twin said it very well. I hate being political but the Left believe in a bigger government and when Obama began appointing directors that the far left lean we saw it happen. The Right isn't always perfect but the difference is government needs to serve the people not rule them.

Several years ago the EPA director Lisa Jackson, she gave a speech over how the "mission" of the EPA is "to induce social change", "We need to also make clear that environmentalism goes hand-in-hand with traditional civil rights and social justice issues in our community."

Lisa Jackson spoke at the 2009 Power Shift Rally38 and was introduced as “one of us” and a “scientist bringing back science to the EPA”. She paid homage to the Power Shift movement, saying that she was excited by its impact in bringing about social change: “African Americans and women got the vote because of a power shift. We have the first African American head of the EPA and the first African American President; we have changed the face of environmentalism. We have a $10.5 billion budget, the largest in EPA history, that's a power shift, EPA is back on the job. (cheers, yelling). Science has been resurrected and will guide our actions.”

H&S and KEM got hammered.
EPA estimates that the illegal devices sold by Edge will result in 158 tons of excess PM emissions, or the equivalent to the emissions from 422 new long-haul semi trucks operating for a period of 29 years.

It is also reported the EPA fined H&S, a manufacturer of both programmers and D P F-deeleet exhaust kits and related products, $96M for violating the federal Clean Air Act.

Sources say other manufacturers, retailers and installers are facing, or likely to face, similar legal action by the EPA. (Link to EPA Criminal Reports.)

I said this YEARS ago and I got laughed at, and got flamed. People have ZERO idea of the power the federal government can wield.

The EPA can use the DOJ to go after companies criminally if there is an adjoining criminal statue w/ the administrative statue.

Just a few years ago, under obama, the CDC filed their federal register to have "authority" to be able to have warrantless arrest/detention and contain people if on the basic of suspicion of being infectious. They recently detained a whole plane of people over the flu.

The FDA and USADA spent millions going after Lance Armstrong and fined him $5 million. They spent several hundred million in the prosecutions of Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire.

The upper most management, w/ but a few folks in their working groups decide the fate of the whole country when new guidelines and policies are written. I've worked in some shape or form as a gov employee for almost 20 years and political swings do affect the ave citizen. As long as the Left has certain mindsets about climate change, ANY person they appoint, in any position will base their policies around their political leanings. I've worked w/ it time and again.

I hate to be political but if any one on a diesel forum votes Left, then they shouldn't be surprised when their diesels are finally confiscated and they are "encouraged" to drive electrics. And BTW, if you hear "too crazy to be true" conspiracies about privacy invasions, you may want to exercise on the side of caution.

Tin foil hat rant over..

Don't hate being political when times call for it. You gave a great source for why what this thread is about is really politically motivated, as opposed to "protecting the environment." The left absolutely wants bigger gov't. I also think all gov't wants bigger gov't, but being as there's only two real parties, I vote Republican and hope for the best. I've only ran into two people here who spouted leftist ideas. The first I was convinced was a Shareblue shill, I called him out as such and never saw him post again. The second I just disagreed with on with some gun control stuff, but he seemed like a good dude. Never underestimate peoples ability to vote against their interests, i.e.,

Then suddenly:

Yeah. Induce social change, not PROTECT the environment.

Oh noes!

Shame I wasn't there to back you up. You're 100% spot on. “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime."

As I said earlier, EPA, ATF and countless other gov't agencies make things up as they go. IDK how we got here, but I wish things would change.

We are way past that. People sell their souls to big tech. It's amazing to me. Am I any better? Probably not. But I sure try.

Gonna have to go deeper than that for tinfoil, everything you said is demonstrably true.

hey guys been pretty busy last couple days sorry if this has been said but it appears this is an old new resurgence the case is settled at this point and we are moving forward the whole thing started during the OWEbutthead years (big surprise)
i just blew through the last couple posts but rant on guys i like what your layin down.
the epa nea fbi cia nsa hs and literally dozens of other agencies need to go the way of the dodo. they haven't served the people OR the best interests of the country in decades.
the epa pushes environmentally damaging legislation and idea for profit and ALL of them are in the pockets of the globalist cabal who seek to instill their dream ideal of a global dictatorship where they have absolute power over everything everyone does down to who lives and who dies...
they euphemistically name this dystopian nightmare the new world order.
a global socialist dictatorship where everything belongs to the elite and the rest of us are slaves.
anyways it looks like this attack on our freedoms in favor of electric cars that are so toxic just where the batteries are made id a toxic chit hole they have no real provision for the disposal of dead batteries which wear out in 5 to 7 years and this is what they push over diesel which until they meddled with it the exhaust would fall out of suspension and break down into a carbon based fertilizer in the soil.
then they add the dpf increase heat breakdown motors exhausts etc and create real pollution all because they are paid off by who ever had the brilliant idea to create this crap and sell it to the public as a for the greater good
they always peddle things as for the greater good
i had other points but i gotta run
long story short question authority with democrats it is always motivated by evil

I like mead

Good points and I too don't understand those that vote against their self interest. I can only imagine it was a union based idea. I know some guys love'em but I've never seen a union rep in our field or any field support any conservative or even libertarian.

Having almost 20 years of various service I do try to base decisions, when allowed, on facts or actual law. Unfortunately I'm often relegated to policy which can change drastically every 4 years or so. It's a job and often a mind-fk

Yeah i'll have to his the political sub some time and see what trouble is being stirred. I always enjoy catching up on the latest hub-bub.

Being as I think the EPA is a joke, and while enjoying a few Yuenglings (MAGA), I came across this video. I know this isn't the actual EPA, but the Pennsylvania arm is close enough. If you have 6 minutes. Enjoy.

Hypothetical Question:

If you just ordered an SCT X4 and were to receive it in the mail would you attempt to update it or would you leave it alone?

I've reached-out to SCT to try to get my hands on a Revision History but I haven't heard back. I honestly don't think they'll respond to me.

I did find this:
