Extra step for factory step tubes

My wife has a bad knee, and she has no problem getting IN to the truck, but has a hard time getting OUT. I've scoured the internet to find, basically, a retractable or foldable EXTRA step that I could add (other that a guy that built his own). For now, I just piggy-back her out and down to the ground, but that might get old as I get, well, OLDER. Any suggestions? Thanx.

best cheapest guess....
extra step from harbor freight for 20 bucks you wold have to get out and fold and unfold it for her to get in and out but better than being in pain...
otherwise you might be able to rig a motoroized drop down step the the existing step but it would be pricey to say the least

My in-law can't get in or out. I know this sounds basic, but we carry a small plastic step and just grab it and put it down when needed to get in or out. May not be the solution you want, but it works and is light.

I carry a small folding step for when grams comes along. She scoffed at first but like the door service now.
