Engine light & bad def fluid

2019 f250 6.7 13,000 mi. Driving home from long trip pulling a trailer, the engine light comes on. Take it to a dealer and apparently the problem is bad def fluid. Put some in from the dealer and mechanic cleared the issue through the obd port. Has anyone come across this before? Seems fine now.

Any idea what the diagnostic code was? I had Code: P203B - Reductant Level Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance and when I refilled the DEF tank the code went away but came back later. It ended up being. the DEF tank heater.

What’s better? I haven’t used the pump def this far. Only have filled the def twice with peaks.

It's all the same stuff. The pump DEF, depending where you go, would have a higher turn around more than likely if you go to a truck stop, thus probably always being fresh. Jug DEF could be sitting for a little bit, then stores put them on clearance, so you could get an older jug depending where you go and how long it's been sitting.

I've only used BlueDef and when I go to buy it, I look for the freshest available. Here is how:

1. Find the code on the box (let's say GA202600054
2. GA = the plant that made the Blue Def
2. 20 = the year of manufactured + 1 year. So the batch was made in 2019
3. 260 = days remaining in the year manufactured. So 365 - 260 = 105. This jug was made on the 105th day of the year or April 15, 2019
4. 0054 = the batch code

Just asking. Not sure if one would be better than the other. I can say jugged DEF that has sat in my garage for two years still kills weeds pretty f-n good.
