What is this bracket for?

What is this bracket for, driver side on the frame around the fuel fill area. Thinking of taking it off.

Ok cool. I was thinking of taking that whole variance thing off.

What about the one on the frame?

Not sure on the frame bracket. Why take it off? Im sure it's too either project something or adding strength to a weak area

The first bracket might be for a skid plate attachment point if you had the FX4 package. The brackets in the front by the bumper are so if you rearend someone, your truck doesnít climb on top of a small vehicle.

ok ok, i'll leave them on.

But the front will all go away once I build and install my move bumper. Can't wait for winter so I can get to welding that pig up.

Looked at my truck tonite and did not see that bracket that is on yours. I do have a 19 with the fx4 and the fuel tank skid plate mount does not even look close to that. Mayby someone else knows

Mine has that bracket, I figured it was just part of the skid plate package, as it appears to be there to protect that open area of the plastic tank.

its ugly, but I'm hoping my running boards will cover it up some when I can afford to install them.
