10% off should be easy to get off, and for simplicity.....a $50k XL is $5k off vs $8k on an $80k KR. It's easy to see the higher dollar discount on the higher trim in that example. Even just comparing invoice numbers bellow MSRP, the higher trim will show a bigger spread.
I think Ford must throw a lot more money at the dealers on the back end of the deal on lower trim line models they have a glut of. Iíve seen near 20k off XL and XLTs F series during the clearance sale time of the year. I realize not everybody qualifies for every rebate mixed in with those prices but most people qualify for at least a few.

And for the guy asking about holdback, thatís easy. Itís just 3% of msrp.

To be honest I have no idea and donít care. 13k under msrp was fine by me and no one could touch that price for hundreds of miles.

That doesnt really tell us much. What was MSRP, how much did the dealer discount excluding any rebates? OTD isn't the most helpful way to compare what others paid either. You could be in a state that has very little ttl, someone else could have an extra 10% in ttl.

MSRP 81K, ford discounted 13k with every rebate under the sun. 1.2K for taxes. Carried over 1K from trade in. Anyways, 2019s should be flying off lots because 2020 orders are in. Went 2019 due to reliability of the 6R140 and motor.

That's a perfect example of why OTD means nothing. Taxes are applied to the after dealer discount price, before rebates and can vary greatly. For me, taxes and other state related fees were $7k on a less expensive truck.

Some of that $13k must have been dealer discount, Ford rebates alone cant equal $13k. How much did your dealer knock off before rebates?

Just got back into a Powerstroke a few weeks ago. I took advantage knowing the 2020 Superduty will be hitting lots soon. I bought a new 2019 F250 Lariat with Lariat Ultimate package. Had everything except sun roof. MSRP was $73k. They applied all rebates and I got it for $60k+TTL. The Dealer had already discounted the truck almost $9k. The rest was rebates. So far I am loving the truck. I've been in 2 F150s and a short stint in a Ram3500 since my last Superduty. This truck is a beast!

What I'd like to know is are the prices you're putting include aftermarket things like extended warranties and all the other options?

Just based off the experience on getting a new fifth wheel, I would think that a 10% discount would be paid back to the dealer with the customer purchasing aftermarket options and then taxes. The price out the door price with tags on the truck, taxes paid, and aftermarket options, is what would really help me plan what I should spend.

It was around 15% off msrp with a $3500 private cash offer. You can do better percentage wise on lower trim trucks but I think itís pretty hard to get below invoice - holdback - rebates on Lariat and higher. Had to contact quite a few dealers before finding one willing to do that, and I had to drive 400 miles. Local dealer had the exact same truck down to the color and wouldnít come within 5k of that.

Iíve had the best luck in every Ford Iíve bought by searching zip codes of areas within a distance Iím willing to drive to on Ford direct and finding vehicles Iíd be interested in. Then just mass blast emails to many dealers and basically say ďearn my business.Ē Youíll find out fast whoís willing to deal and who isnít.

Good luck.

That's exactly what I do -- cover a lot of dealers by using email and phone. Like you said, the serious ones will respond. I would add to that, never ever trade-in a vehicle.

The only time I want to visit a dealership is to close and pick-up the keys. If the negotiations were particularly contentious, it's sometimes better to have them deliver the vehicle...lol.
