Starting the New Year with a New Truck

Hi All,

Was gone for a while when I had to sell the ol' F-250 for something a little more reliable. My 2012 Tundra was the ticket for the last 7 years, but my needs changed and I wanted a little more features/capability.

Went to Loveland Ford to look at some trucks they had on the lot and figured I'd see how willing they were to get rid of some vehicles before the New Year. Turns out they were pretty motivated and I ended up with the F-250 that you see below. I am beyond happy and still in shock with how everything went down. Can't believe a stock Super Duty drives better than my 1/2 ton did and gets similar MPGs to my Toyota 5.7 V8.

Question for you: The hitch is a 3" receiver... is it supposed to come with a 2" adapter sleeve?! If so, where was yours located?

Nice truck! It should come with the adapter and a pin. Try looking under the rear seat. Not to uncommon to these to get "swapped out" so contact your dealer if they are missing.

Congrats on the new ride!
They are 2.5" hitches,BTW. Its usually in the hitch. FWIW, they are not needed. Well, the pin is useful but the adapter is just a pain to deal with. All it is is a 2.5 x 2.5 x 0.25" square stock. I tossed mine on day 3 of ownership and bought a 2.5" adjustable ball mount and D ring bar from E Trailer.

True that. The adapter is useful for bike racks.

Starting the New Year with a New Truck

Sweet truck and congrats!! My 2019 platinum didn’t come with the adapter sleeve. I was told ford doesn’t give those anymore? I went to TSC and got one for like $20... I would’ve just bought a hitch to fit the 2.5” but I already had a B&W 2” adjustable and didn’t want to drop the coin on another

Congrats on the truck!! That first pic would be better if that guy wasn't standing in front of your truck! J/K of course! Looks like you scored! Happy New Year to you!!

Congrats!! My 3" adapter came already installed on my truck. all I did was replace the pin with a locking one. everything is working well after doing some towing duties.

If you're gonna go, go with a smile!

Indeed, that is one reason to keep it!
