deleted with 50 gal tank question

for those of you running the bigger fuel tank that goes in the stock location and are deleted... does the truck lean to the drivers side?

im debating between the stock replacement and the inbed aux system.

i dont want to lose bed space (short bed) but i dont want the truck to lean neiter.

Yea...tough choice. That 50 gallons is like adding roughly 350lbs to the frame/driver's side. Might be noticeable at a full tank of fuel. Maybe not so much with 1/2 or less fuel in the tank.

deleted with 50 gal tank question

Mine leans to driver side with stock tank. I have a 40 Donaldson in place of the stock setup.

Installing Carli Backcountry with full replacement leafs this weekend. Wonder how the 50 gallon would affect it?

i like that the inbed aux system puts the weight in the middle, will help smooth out bed hop, and is a few hundo cheaper.

wish it came with a 30+ gallon tank like my 6.0 did. i dont need THAT much fuel but 26 just isnt enough.

Does anyone know if a titan fuel tank for a short bed will fit a long bed truck? Wanting more range from my 16' F450 as it gets 8.8 mpg avg. I'm just curious if the short bed tank has better ground clearance as I'm in heavy construction/ oil field related sites regularly. I feel like 65gal is a tad overkill for my needs but factory is inadequate. TIA

Diesel fuel weighs approx 7 pounds per gallon. Adding a 50 gallon tank will only add approx 175 and 200 pounds. Most drivers weigh this much or more. So,, adding the larger tank should not affect the stance of the truck when viewed in a static status. I do not notice any change in the static stance of my CCLB truck with the 65 gallon Titan tank.

Adding a 50 gallon tank to a LWB truck might be possible. Without a tank and test fitting, if would be impossible to know if the LWB fuel tank mounts would need to be relocated or you would need the SWB tank mounts. The next problem one might encounter is the location of the fuel pickup/float/fuel return. Woudl the fuel lines need modifications in length? Lastly would be the fuel tank fill hose. How close to the LWB location would it be or mods be needed?

Titan makes a spare tire mount fuel tank also. I don't know if it is gravity fed or you need a transfer pump. Could be an option for you.

If it leans you need new Springs. 300lbs of added weight will never be noticed.
