Hot side does not give problems. It is already made of metal. Only the cold side is the major problem. I have only seen one hot side boot issue in the last 3 years on another forum of the 5 i visit regularly.

They do fail and it will likely go sooner or later.

The question is, is it worth blowing that pipe out of town?

Cheap insurance and about an hours work.

So I found this one on fleabay for $99!

Thoughts?

When it comes to mechanics, everything I know is from either breaking it or watching someone else do the same. Then I had to fix it....Is that bad?

Prices have come down since I bought my two piece metal for $150. This kit is probably pretty decent and functional. The lower metal pipe is not replaced with a silicone piece.

This is the same as the listing you have but about $30 cheaper.
