If it were me, I'd post this question in the "Ford 11-16 6.7" forum just below this one. Most likely you will get better advice.

However, first thing I would do is drain the water separator and repeat every 5,000 miles or so.

I have a 2016 350 with 3900 miles. I deleted dpf for the sake of a healthy motor as I want to keep the truck for awhile. Im also thinking about the dieselsite fuel separator.

My 2016 has 17,000 miles, I thought that was low until I just saw how few miles your trucks have. You guys must never drive them?

The truck will tell you what to do. Pretty simple. If you go to Gas stations that don't get much business then you should drain the water separator.

Oh yeah don't make the mistake of putting DEF in your fuel tank! I put the nozzle for the def pump while talking on the phone and dealing with local floods. I didn't pull the trigger but a little bit poured out into the tank. I called to have the dealer tow and drain the tank but they couldn't hear me on the phone so I turned the key on to the truck to talk on the hands free. Doing that cost me $10,000.00. Such a bad day.

I found a used DieselSite kit from another member, works great with no issues so far. For the price of a new one maybe consider a AirDog system for filter/water seperation.
