Front end rattle

hello everyone,

so in my front end there is a significant rattle when the front axle/front of the truck hits any kind of bump or hole. It is a 2008 f250 crew cab with 250k miles on the clock. It is super loud and I feel like everyone near the truck can hear it and I hate that it sounds like my truck is falling apart. I replaced the sway bar bushing as they were completely shot, and it seemed to slightly help, and reduce the loudness of the rattle. Later down the road my steering gear box started leaking so i had that replaced with a new box and for 3 days or so the noise was COMPLETELY eliminated. So, it made sense to me that something was broken in the gear box and was just rattling around. Well after 3 days or so the noise came back. It used to be if either wheel hit a bump, but now it seems to only occur when the drivers side is hit. I don't know if something is coming loose, and it got tightened back during gear box replacement, but is now loose again. if that were the case what would it be? any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

thank you!

My bet would be track bar bushings. It is the bar that comes from the frame down to the axle to keep the axle centered. Another thing worth checking is ball joints. To check those, you need to jack up one tire at a time and try to shake it up and down and back and forth. If it moves then its time for new joints

Mine rattled like crazy, and it was a toasted front outer U joint. Reach in and give them a shake.
