At dealer, maybe a blown engine

so long story short had blowby and engine eventually went. should i do a full manufactured bulletproof rebuild or just send it in somewhere for a rebuild. im not too sure what route to take ill take any suggestions. even thought about cummin swapping it

The stuff coming out of Kill Devil is all high quality.


FWIW I sold my 6.4 and got a 6.0 before that happened to me. The 6.4 was fun to drive but I just didn't trust it to last.

Thatís actually not a bad price, which surprised me. I paid a lot more for a Merlin big block with only a one year warranty.

so, its been at the ford dealership as im not 100% sure its blown. it cranks, but we havent gotten it to run and the ford dealership doesnt know exactly whats wrong either.... will keep updated

There's not independent diesel shops by you? The Ford dealer will probably hit you with a huge estimate for the same problems, do what was suggested if you want to do it right.

he meant he bought a whole different older truck with a 6.0 in it vs keeping the truck with the 6.4 grenade

yes but i have a buddy of mine there that can hook me up with employee discount. had the auto theft problem months back and he hooked it up for $1100. was going to be $2800... so i just got lucky here

Your savings will be will severely lost when the inevitable still happens again with another 6.4 block, just get the best option available to start with.
