Would you use this fuel filter?

I bought them on Amazon, Motorcraft FD4617, and the o-ring is pushing out on the main filter. Does that look faulty to you? I ordered a second set and it's similar, o-ring pushing out around the edges, but not as bad.

I would expect better quality for a $45 damn filter!

I am pretty sure we found Amazon selling counterfeit 6.0 oil filters a while ago ( sold and shipped by Amazon)

I would contact Parker Racor at the very least and ask them but I would not run that if it was mine ,, without their blessing

Well that's lame, I sure hope it isn't counterfiet. Came in a Motorcraft box and everything. I didn't see any print or writing on the filters themselves though.

after the 6.0 oil filter scare , I had just bought two when someone found some comments and pictures of either really bad quality control or more likely counterfeit filters being delivered to them from Amazon, I checked mine and they were OK but then i slapped myself for buying from Amazon just to save a buck
when i was pretty sure they are not authorized retailers

i won't do that again

That isn't an o-ring, its epoxy... It may be unsightly, but its not a problem nor will it hurt anything to run.

have you ever seen a parker Racor Motorcraft filter that sloppy? ? I have not and I have used 100's

sure the glue won't hurt anything but if it is not an OEM filter it sure may cause issues

So what does everybody do, only purchase from ford dealers? Is rockauto an approved ford parts seller? I've always purchased from amazon and rockauto and never had a problem...
