That looks sick. I'd love to get a set of these for mine, but I'm having a hard time coping with $150 just for caps. The oil and filters are already expensive enough! I don't even care to have colored caps, just plain billet, but the cost seems astronomical to me.

Price won't seem so steep when your in the middle of a filter change and break the plastic caps. Kinda puts you dead in the water at that point.

Knock on wood, it's never happened to me since 2005 when we got our first 6.0's. Not ruling out that it could happen, but I'm generally pretty careful about things. Now that I've said that, I'm destined to break one on my next service.

And if you have seen the price ford wants for the plastic ones, you will be shocked.

Ditto on that... That's why I decided to go billet... Cheaper than going back to undurable plastic..

I have the same ebay cap. The oring that comes with the cap is thinner than the one that comes with your filter. I didn't even use the one that came with the cap, just reused the old one and I have no leaks.

I just went out to switch the o-ring and try again. I believe it worked! It was too cold to stand out there much longer with shorts on and I don't feel like putting pants on. Guess he just ships an o-ring that is too small. Thanks, but ditto to sticking with a recommended vendor next time!

Looks like I am too late as I was just getting ready to post this. I went and checked and the oring he ships is not right (diameter to small), he would be better off not shipping one at all. I am putting mine on tomorrow and will let you know how mine turns out. Overall, minus the o-ring, the quality of the machining looks spot on. I went back and checked his feedback more closely and he has well over 150+ of these sold with positive feedback within the last year....and only 2 negatives. So I am pretty confident that with the right o-ring it is a good piece. If all goes well I will leave him positive feedback but bring up the o-ring thing. Glad you got it not leaking!!!

Not to hijack here but I noticed that you hooked up your coolant filter the same way I did, only to be told that I did it wrong and the "T" back by the firewall is supposed to go in front of the heater control valve. I just swapped the two locations, now my heater control valve is where the "T" is and vise-versa.
