Ive had the best luck with this stuff. Used pb blaster prior to picking this up. And doesnt smell as bad as some. Needed to put exhaust gaskets on the drivers side manifold on the 03. So i shot the bolts the night before, drove it the next day, then shot them again once things cooled off. They came right out surprisingly. Didnt break a one and thats with 260k on the clock.

Yeah, my driver ball joints were a giant B1CH.... in hindsight, if i had wire wheeled the surrounding rust it might have came out easier LOL Ohwell.
Doubt that would have helped. Mine weren’t even that bad and I’m in Michigan. I even soaked with them with wd40 multiple times for the week leading up to the job and it didn’t do much
WD40 is a water displacer not a penetrating oil.
Spray it a couple times a day for a couple days with Kroil, best darn penetrating oil I've ever found, gotta let it do it's job though.

It was the wd40 stuff that somebody posted a picture of not just the standard wd. Rust penetrant I believe is what they call it on the Can

Even if the pump is on the truck already get rid of that Allen head bolt that drains the water separator. It will strip over time. I replaced mine with one that has a wing nut style so I can’t strip it.
Replaced with a brass knurled head unit that can hang from hole when draining - helps keeps the mess to a minimum when doing filter change. Fuel drain down the hanging plug and nicely into a bucket - none on the driveshaft.

Getting cold here, so I flipped my batteries around for heat instead of AC.

On a side note, I now have a bunch of electrical gremlins and a faint electrical burning smell. Wondering if anyone can help point me in the right direction...?

Just a follow up to my saga - apparently you're supposed to flip your batteries around for the heat/ac thing only if you're in the SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE! Don't I feel like an idiot. So, i'm back on the road after 2 new batteries, an alternator, a FICM, a PCM, a TCM, a new dash cluster, and like 25 sensors! Wish every fix was this easy...

Installed the Power Stop ZF36 brake pads all around, then front rotors and calipers as well. So far I am happy with them over stock, but haven't had to slam on them in Houston traffic to determine if they perform that much better or not.

Put the Z36 calipers/rotors/pads on both my Ex's. Best thing I have done for stopping power - 50 mph with Ex full of co-workers dunbass pulls out from side road right in front of me - managed to stop on a dime and not run over him. All my co-workers could not believe we stopped that quick and avoided T-boning the idiot, they were all bracing for the crash. Wife loves them as they stop the vehicle QUICK.

Filled the tank @ $ 3.76 a gallon - not bad for Commiefornia prices!

Cost me $100. <img src="http://www.powerstroke.org/forum/images/Powerstroke_org_2015/smilies/tango_face_sad.png" border="0" alt="" title="Frown" class="inlineimg" />
I've probably asked this before, but I forget stuff, where you located in our great state? I'm in covina, about 20 miles east of Pasadena

Changed Rear Drive shaft U-Joints

I could feel a vibration at certain speeds... a quick check of the drive shaft showed a tiny amount of movement at the double cardan joint on the main drive shaft.

So, I pulled it out, took it apart, cleaned/painted it and installed a new 1410 joint at the rear and two new 1350 joints up front. These new U-joints have grease zerks on the caps. Also installed a new centering ball.

Nice and tight now!

You must have an RCSB or ECSB with the double cardan joint on the main shaft?

Finally finished the head job on my '06. So I guess you could say I gave the beast new life today. After the disaster that was done by a local shop here, it's now done right with promaxx heads w/o-rings and felpro gaskets (serious kudos to Enterprise Engine in Columbus, OH. Very impressed) I've been working non stop after work in the driveway to do a job I wasnt so sure I could do. First test drive tonight after finishing in the rain and she runs like a sewing machine. It's been depressing seeing it sit in my driveway for 8 months with a laundry list of problems. $9k rip off head job from a hack shop.... I'm ready to go sit in the driveway and have some cold snacks.

I can relate - did my head job in the driveway as well. Same story poor work from original shop.
