So.. This happened today - Exhaust. options?

Driving in busy Atlanta traffic and all the sudden I hear this metal scraping sound that seems to get louder as I accelerate.

Turns out my exhaust broke right under the front part of the box (where the muffler is supposed to be). I didn't really want a shorty exhaust so I'll probably replace it.

Anyone know for sure if a 7.3 full exhaust will bolt up? I'm seeing reference to it online that it works.. just wanted to make sure before I drop $300 on a new MBRP system.

Anything better (more bang for the buck)? Yes.. I like it loud and plenty of turbo.

Pros and cons of a 4" vs 5"? Which one would you do?

Yeah, it is.. kinda like it but will probably need to replace it.

The other half at times complained about it's previous state.. not really willing to make it quieter than it was before but I'd like to have it as close as possible to what it was. I think it was 4" previously.

My wife keeps having visions of this truck I test drove which dumped the exhaust straight out of the turbo at the ground up front. The sound was cool but I agree.. it was a little obnoxious. Can't imagine what it would be like with a load on it.. LOL.

Well, I went ahead and ordered a new 4" MBRP turbo-back system. Not looking forward to removing that downpipe.

It's not bad, tight but doable. I've had worse. Soak the bolts in PB.

I don't think you'll be sorry you went with the new system. Which one did you go with?
