2005 f250 no crank after sct livewire ts froze

Hey all,

New to the forum but always watching and reading.

I have a 2005 f250 6.0 all stock.
I invested in a sct livewire to try and help with fuel.

When I tried to put it back to stock it froze midway through and I know get a strategy/part number could not be read error.

Spoke with sct went through all the motions online. Ended up mailing it to and my pcm to them.

They say they had no problems returning it to stock. Yet when I got it back today I get the same error.

Obd will power up tuner but go’s to the error when try and do anything.

They says it’s something with my truck not them. Take it to Ford...

I had been running autoenginuity on it before I tried to return it to stock and had no codes except fan clutch. So lost as to how it’s my truck all the sudden.

The truck will now power on all dash lights including a wrench now. It will not crank over at all.

Batts are 12.1 volts

If I pull starter cable off firewall and touch to battery it cranks over fine and strong.

Anyone with any experience with this issue.
I would greatly appreciate your input.

Thanks

Ps going to get relays tomorrow all other fuses appear fine.

Have more than 1 key for the thing? Very well could be the security system. If the chip in the key failed or is not being read properly the truck will not crank. This may also cause the tuner problems.

I had a key for my 03 excursion that worked for 2 years. Then one day the thing would not even try to crank. 2 Hours later i tried the other key and it fired right up. AE had no codes. And truck would crank if i jumped the wire on the firewall. Had another key made so i had a good working spare and threw the bad key in my toolbox.

SCT Flash tuners need a steady strong power and your batteries are just a tad weak. I would hook up a battery tender to the batteries and try again personally. Before that clean all battery terminal and ground wires first. I never had issues but my friends 05 had issues with the t2 unless his batteries were hooked to a tender. He ended up getting new batteries and problem solved for him.

I know it sounds silly but that was my only gripe with SCT unless your power supply was premium the ts specifically had freezing issues.

Update.... 6.0 is alive!
Had I paid more attention to the AE fan clutch error. I wouldn’t owe sct an apology for blaming there tuner.

I guess it was coincidence that at the time I was tuning the fan clutch wire shorted out and blew the pcm maxi fuse.

The fan clutch wire was cut in half.

Having power to dash and everything else caused me to skip some basics and didn’t check every fuse I needed to.

Thanks for the replies and if nothing else maybe someone else will benefit from this.

I had heard that so, I had hooked it up as soon as issue started.
