Ecm/pcm replacement

Hi guys I just bought another 06 F-250 crew cab. After driving it for a couple days I’m starting to get the impression that my truck has a tuner married to it. But I went to Ford asked for a re-flash they told me it will cost $400. But I was looking around I found a reman ecm/pcm for under $200 with the updated software they claim it’s plug and play. If I go that route would that return my truck back to stock completely ?

2006 F-250 6.0L Powerstroke, K&N intake with S&B filter, 3.5" - 5inch Mbrp Cat back exhaust with muffler delete pipe, Garret Powermax, Performance Machine Coolant filter, SCT Livewire w/Innovative Diesel Xtreme tune, High idle mod, Glowshift gauges Egt, oil temp, fuel pressure. 2.5" leveling kit, 35X12.50R17 Nitto Trail Grappler, Rancho Dual Steering Stabilizer, Rancho 9000XL Shocks.

For what model year truck is the PCM that you are looking at?

Itís out of a same year truck 06. They just told me to give them my vin # so that they can program it. And said if my key is microchipped then I would need to take it to a dealer to have it reprogrammed. Which I think my truck is not since it starts with the valet key.

Any pre 07 Super Duty truck has no chip in the key so you're fine there. What's the purpose of running a stock ECU? Is there something wrong with the tune that is on it?

Iím not all 100% sure when itís fueling it bucks like a mule then smooths out already replaced the fuel filters and checked the fuel pressure which is reading 60 psi idle about 57 - 58 psi at wot pretty sure fuel delivery is fine. Iím now suspecting itís the tune on the truck but the tuner did not come with the truck when I bought it.
