Good price or over the top? (2005 F-250 $18,800)

Hey guys, new here and looking for some advice.

I'm looking at a 2005 F-250XLT crew cab, short bed, with 93k miles. I could pick it up for $18800. It's in excellent shape, only two owners, head studs have been done, and a couple other items but I can't remember at this time. It has a 4" lift, new tires and after market wheels as well.

KBB is saying near $16k for this truck, but I know some of these trucks command higher than listed prices.

I'm new to this motor. I was looking at the 6.4 but heard to many blown engine horror stories. I'm not here to debate 6.0 vs 6.4 or 7.3. I'm looking at the 6.0 around this price range and just want to know if this is a good price for a lower mileage well taken care of truck. What do you all think? Thanks for any input.

I mean its all what youre after. $18800 for a low mile, unmolested truck with the needed worked done sounds good to me. Some people will say too much, some people will say its fair. Its however you look at it.

For reference I paid $19000CAD for my 06 Lariat CCSB last year with 180k miles (280k KM) and I did that because I knew the trucks exact history and it had every ounce of possible needed work done and was maintained meticulously. The list of stuff done to it is endless. Truck is in awesome shape inside and out, and mechanically.

And 100% stay away from the 6.4 unless you have deep pockets lol.

darianmacdonald, I hear ya. It's hard for me to justify the cost for that age of truck. Heck, even the bank only wants to loan $15k towards the truck. Tough to decide. Thanks for your thoughts.

I think its a good price for a good truck. To determine if its a good truck, the best You Tube video I found so far was the POWERSTROKEHELP.com 4 part video on how to buy a 6.0. After watching this, you'll finds something wrong wit the truck, it is 12 years old, and you'll decide whether you can live with the problem whether its major or minor.

14 year old truck, I wouldn't even loan that much $ towards it unless you've got something of more value as collateral.

Heck, if your.looking for one thats been taken care of and will treat you well, im selling mine. Its been oringed with ucf heads, studded, deleted, i did warren injectors, barder turbo, fully built trans etc. Only reason im selling it is im buying a diesel pusher motorhome and no longer need my tow vehicle lol. Give it a look see. Id rather have it go to someone who will enjoy it and have fun with it.... I have videos of it cold starting, driving, hot blowby test, cold blowby test, deltas, idling etc.

I'd say its a pretty good price. Usually sub 100k 2005 to 2007s are just under 20k around here.

I think it is as well. Here in so cal they can go from 16 to 20 depending on whats done. Mines right in the middle. I know i will never get out what i put into it, but i feel its fair. All the troublesome issues have already been addressed and upgraded, plus we dont have to deal with rust and corrosion lol.

I'm o k with the price. Be sure you can insure it for that. I had a little scare on my high mileage '05 last year. Insurance paid for the fix (i use the the term fix lightly) but it was an eye opener.
