Replaced radiator and now trans. won't go into gear.

I replaced my radiator on my 06 last Friday. Drove for three days no problem. Then yesterday morning on my son's drive to school, transmission all of the sudden would not go. I put it in gear and looked under and driveshaft not turning so the problem is in the trans. I let it set a few minutes and fired back up and it went in gear for a few minutes then it stopped moving again. I only lost about a quart of fluid during replacement of radiator. Wondering if its a coincidence since trans. has 265K miles on it, or new radiator(Performance) could be an issue. Any thoughts before i have it towed to tranny shop?

It could also be a transfer case issue.

Did you take the plug out of the connections for the trans lines?

Yes I did. Before I added the Quart it checked out full, but I still added the quart that I lost and it showed no different on the dipstick.

Is there trans fluid in the coolant, or vise versa?

Did Performance provide the quick disconnect fittings for the 05 model, or did you reuse your old ones?

I wonder if there could have been something in the trans cooler that made its way to the trans? You did top off with SP or LV, right?

sounds like a coincidence since it was fine for three days

Performance makes a good product

i agree though check for cross fluid contamination

and dbl check fluid level ( the 5r is hard to read and getting a dry surface on the indicator is tricky )

I used the old fittings. Performance did not supply new ones. I just unscrewed from old fittings and screwed back into new fittings on new radiator.
