How many miles on your 6.0 since you did HGs

I'm stuck in this dilemma of do i buy a bulletproofed 6.0 with 200k that's been done right. All receipts and checked out done 20k miles ago. 14k

Or do i buy a unmolested 6.0 with 100k or less. 11-14k range

So i'm curious how many miles do you have on your 6.0 since you bulletproofed it correctly.

Thanks for your time

I did it on the cheap the 1st go around at 138K on the clock. I ran it almost 90K miles before I blew a headgasket and torched a piston. I'm closing in on 70K miles on my Long Block BulletProof build and still loving it. No problems thus far. A stock 6.0 or a" bulletproofed on the cheap" is not for the faint at heart or a shallow pocket.

The bulletproofing that was done there was no expense spared BN OEM heads fire ringed the list of stuff done to the truck is long and there is 16k in receipts but im still pondering if i should go with a low mile unmolested truck. Maintenance records back to 04 when the truck was purchased. I've been told by many its a good deal. But also raises the question why sell the truck after putting so much into it.

So this is my theory the truck has been in the family since 04 dad gave the truck to son who in turn put all the cash in to the truck so in his eyes he isn't loosing a ton of money and is defiantly getting way more then he would on trade. He wants to buy a F150 ecoboost dew to new employment that will require substantially more driving. So its a win win situation.

But honestly i'm just curious to what guys are getting for miles after a proper bulletproofing the information i have read people love there 6.0 after getting the truck up to par. But no one talks about how many miles they have put on did the truck run trouble free for a respectable amount of time.

What ever truck i decide on im paying cash for no loan and plan to keep 125-150k 4-5 years when the 6.7s get down to 15k or so. I also plan taking real good care of the truck diligent maintenance only the proper oil filter fuel all the **** i have learned from the countless HRs of reading up on the 6.0. The truck will be work truck towing light duty 4k daily. 4 times a month if i am doing a big rock job the truck will have 12k behind it. Anyway thanks for your input. Have a good night

I haven’t even looked at your list honestly. But I’m for low miles and molested in a big way.
Ok that was a spell thing.
If you can get a low miles truck there is a lot to be said there on it’s own. Then do things your way.

Yeah im not putting the trucks in this thread i have already posted them in another thread. NOt trying to debate the trucks specifically more looking for opinions on miles of bulletproofed trucks. It seems to me if you find a truck thats bulletproofed and low miles you are in the 20k range. If they are in the 15K range the person doesn't have receipts and the work was done in his buddies garage.

When it comes to the low mile trucks. I feel like they are at the point where its time to start considering head studs and bulletproofing the motor. So tack on 6500 to the price of unmolested truck. I don't know what to do. I have been looking at trucks for better part of 6 months i found this one certain truck and thought that's the one. And i am still 2nd guessing myself.

interesting your price range is lower than ours (AZ) we seem to run about 5k higher than what your posting

I'd not only drive mine across the country, I'd hook to a load and go!!

But back to the original question: "bulletproof" means a lot of different things to different people. For me there are some things that are NOT negotiable. To be "BulletProof" it MUST have all the little upgrades that have come along over the years. A REAL BPD oil cooler, ARP head studs, a coolant filter, a GOOD monitor, Synthetic Lubes, 2008 Transmission pan and filter upgrades, work done by a "6.0 Pro" and several others.
