Well good on you for finding it!

Bummer that it didn't line up, I was afraid of that. I remembered another member (Tuscany) running into a similar issue when he built his compound turbo setup but didn't quite remember what the inconsistency was.

Yeah, I'm glad you had at least mentioned it or I would have been super bummed.

Now I just have to figure out my weekend camping trip transportation. The travel trailer is a bit heavy for the Tahoe, so looks like I'll be renting a truck I guess.

Or leave the trailer at home, and camp out old school or in the Tahoe

Kudos to you for your diligence. Too bad about the upper pan issue.

Ha, with a 7,5 and 3 year old even the camper feels small. Those days of camping are over for at least a few more years

Thanks for the encouragement G8orFord, I'd have definitely been more upset had I not found it for sure.

Best news of the night. @3054tony has hooked me up with an upper pan and pickup tube from an engine he has. My wife is heading his way tomorrow morning after dropping the kids at school to grab it and come back. I've dropped the engine back on the motormounts (no more spacers required) and will be finishing the top end tomorrow after work by putting the turbo back on. Should get a good long test drive tomorrow night to check the HPO system.

I can't speak highly enough of this forum, more particularly the people in it. Never been to a more friendly and helpful place with so many people trying their best to give each other a hand.

My folks spent summers camping everywhere around the pacific NW hauling a small popup tent trailer behind a galaxy 500 station wagon with 4 kids the same age range. Great memories!

Well got it back together, and no noticeable HPO leaks after a few driving cycles and hot starts. After getting it all back together it was the smoothest and quietest I've ever felt/heard it drive and idle. Unfortunately cylinder #3 contribution code came back within about ten miles. Got to be something underlying with the injector besides just stiction. Runs awesome when I'm in the throttle, but between 1500-1900 RPM cruising it still runs a bit rough. I will chase that down when I'm not in a hurry.

Regardless, thanks again to everyone who helped me out or put in their two cents. Big thank you to Tony, I couldn't have gotten this wrapped up if he hadn't come through huge for me.

I will say, I may just pull the motor before pulling that pan again, some of those passenger side bolts are a pain to get torqued down.

Thanks again.
