Low boost

So I have an 03 f250 and I'm not getting boost, so I pulled the turbo and cleaned it all up real good and that still didn't work and so a guy with a real nice scanner scanned it and pulled a P0046 P0402 and a P132B
So I thought it might be related to the VGT solenoid so I got a new one and put it in but it still feels like it's lacking the boost it should be getting

Are you able to see what your boost psi is?

Check your CAC boots for cracks and tightness. Also inspect your intercooler as is could have a leak. Didn't check your signature so not sure the year of your truck but if it has the plastic cold side pipe from the intercooler, check for cracks in it too.

Sounds to me like your EGR valve is sticking or stuck.

To diagnose the VGT codes, check out the attached presentation. It references 2003.25 MY KA Pinpoint Tests. That and a more general turbo doc are attached, as well.

i was told to turn the truck off and pull the egr valve electrical connector and if it solves the problem, then its the culprit! i did and it worked, it isn't sluggish anymore but i still have a terrible exhaust leak on the up pipe so no boost above 8lbs

Mine had low boost and it was a blown intercooler. It was hidden and couldn't be seen when installed.

To find leaks in the intercooler system, you can get one of these at the hardware store:

...glue a Schrader valve into it, connect it to the turbo where your CAI attaches, and charge it up with an air compressor.
TurboSpin likes this.
