Nevada had beautiful sunrises and sunsets every day. Second is a sunrise over the Whites, first is sunset over BLM land behind my house, bordering the Sierra’s near Tahoe. Both taken from my back porch in Gardnerville NV. Not all of Nevada is desert.

Used to love seeing the sunrise over the mountains when I was stationed at Ft Lewis in Tacoma.

I bet you have a bunch of retired firefighters living near you. I can think of at least 5 guys that retired from my dept then pulled up stakes and moved to Gardnerville.

I had to move away from Gardnerville 3 years ago to discipline my 87 year-old father. He retired to Atascadero CA, near Morro Bay. I really miss Gardnerville. And yes, many retired firefighters. When I lived near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, it was a huge group of retired Law Enforcement Officers.
