Ok so I'm getting ready to order the ball joints, the upper one on Moog's website has 2 different ones, one is specific to the Dana 60. How do I know if I have the Dana 60?

If something falls out of the differential when you pull an axle you have bigger problems than just ball joints, you should be fine, the proper vacuum seal driver will be your bestest friend

Should be a tag or number on the axle or diff. Cover.

Unfortunately there's no markings. I'm used to seeing the tags on the rear diffs, never paid attention to the front diffs but neither of my axles have the tags anymore so I'm guessing it had both axles serviced at some point lol. From what I'm reading online, all the 6.0's use a Sterling 10.5 in the rear and a Dana 60 in the front. Still not sure why Moog is giving me the option of two different parts.

I'm not sure then. Every differential I've looked at has markings.

@Red Ford ask around on here, someone may have that tool they'll rent you for the cost of shipping both ways

Others have made one from plumbing fittings, don't know if it'll be as good as the OTC, guessing for the price of the seals, if you screw one up you'll wish you had the right tool.

i missed ost of this and i will TRY to go back but the internet is just crappola this weekend...
snapring pliers, harbor freight buy two and even if you destroy one doing the job you still have one and they seem to hold up fairly well...
other tools you can often rent from auto zone for cheap on one off type jobs

in other news i got to put my new chain saw chain to use today and damn that thing cuts like a rabid beaver
