Just finished chopping my Visa cards to bits and canceling it. I had requested a $500 refund on the 6th and they still claim they did not have any record of it and could not do anything. Even though I have a transaction number for the refund transaction. I'm done dealing with visa and their BS

Scotiabank Visa. Stupid thing is all they would have had to do was say, that's not right give us the refund number and let us look into it.
The other stupid thing is, I'm looking at buying my own semi truck and becoming a sole proprietor. As I told them I was looking at a loan of $160,000, and probably a credit card with a $10,000 limit. Now instead of Visa it's going to be a master card through my credit union. But hey if they don't need/want my business.....

I spend $1m+ a year on credit cards, and I got through the other night to the head VP of client relations at 9pm pst, and I told him you either book me these flights, or I'm not longer a chase client, you're dead to me, and he said well I'm sorry sir but what you are asking for is going to take 2-3 days (because of their mistake) and he realllly didnt seem to care. He called my bluff. He said, well sir we can certainly handle the cancellation at this moment, however.

So I wouldn't really hold your breath. I'm also, well was, a chase private client.

I don't bluff. The card is already chopped. Like I say, all it would have taken to keep my 13 years of business was to say I will try

Chopping the card doesn't close the account, just stops you from swiping it at a merchant

I'm fully aware that my business is not going to affect their bottom line one way or the other and yes I did insist on them closing the account as well. I just refuse to do business organizations that I have to force my money on. Now by Big City standards I live in a pretty small community of 5,000 or thereabouts. But it's still big enough when it comes to knowing people's names. When I walk into my local credit union I don't need a bank card to make a withdrawal I just tell them how much I want to take out of which account and they know who I am. Much nicer that dealing with the big Banks who make you stand in line for 30 minutes before you even get to a teller
