Might be time for a newer truck. Kind of getting tired of mine being in the shop. Took in for an oil leak and they told me it was the oil cooler. Still leaked after they replaced it, so I took it back in. They said it was the upper pan gasket. After fighting with Premiumcare for a while supposedly the dealer replaced that. Still leaked so took it back in again and they said it was the oil cooler (which they had just replaced a couple months earlier). They replaced it again and truck still leaked. Took it back in two weeks ago and they said it was the front engine cover. They replaced that (new cover and gasket) and I got it back last Wednesday. Picked it up that evening and drove it home. Took it to work the next morning and when I got off work it wouldn't start. Had them tow it back to the shop and now they are trying to say it had catastrophic injector failure (several injectors) when I have never had even a symptom of injector failure before it went in. Now Ford Premiumcare wants them to pull multiple injectors for a diagnosis to see if it was due to neglect before they will cover it. I change my oil with 5W-40 synthetic every 5K and new fuel filters every other oil change. I find it kind of funny that multiple injectors would fail the day after it gets out of the shop for a front engine cover replacement, but I have seen stranger things happen. If the warranty tries to say it was negligence on my part I am going to be more than pissed and I will warrant the fact that the service mgr. at TS&S Ford ain't gonna like me much.

Have you had the chance of checking ficm voltages while it was in your possession the last time?
And what does catastrophic even mean

I didn't have a chance to check, but the dealer said it checked out. I had it replaced by Suburban Ford about 30K ago (less than 2 yrs).

I believe it was termed catastrophic due to the quantity of supposed failed injectors, but they hadn't pulled them as of last update to determine cause.

screamin deal
how do you like those? i am going to need to do the brakes on my truck eventually.
those are kinda what i was leaning toward pricey but i dont go through enough brakes to be too worried about it
i am still running the ones that came on it and they are getting thin but they arent gone yet 6 years on used brakes i should have ten out of a good set

on he alarm thing i am no real help i hear its all about the installer and there are a lot of guys doing installs but very few who are any good
but again even that pearl of wisdom is not first hand knowledge so

home front rained like crazy all day creek is raging now and it has turned to snow finally but its dumping pretty good.
now that the internet is working again i should try to check out weather i have a ton of stuff i should get done tomorrow

I like mead

tested my coolant pressure today on the trip to take my newest fur baby to the vet.

so it was 30 miles up and down some good sized rolling hills at 70mph. coolant pressure reached 13psi and touched 15 very shortly pulling a big hill. got to vet dropped doggo off. then released pressure and took off. dogging the absolute crap out of the truck to make boost and see if i can make the pressure rise quickly like in all the videos and write ups. pressure didnt rise quick.

so all in all. i think my headgaskets are fine for now. just gonna keep runnning her till she gives me problems
