I think they were 'updated' because the older ones were getting sand and debri stuck and was creating scratches in the glass and not just the tint.

Especially the damn tint! My 6.0 came from Oklahoma complete with about 5 lbs of red clay dust in every nook & cranny, my tint looks like crap. I don't know if they can strip & redo the factory tint or not.

I don't think so. I thought factory tint was actually in the glass itself?

When I bought my truck, it was so bad that you could barely see out the drivers and passenger windows. I told the guy to replace the windows and the trim piece and I'll buy it. We compromised. I bought the trim pieces, he bought the windows and installed everything. I still need to re-tint them.

Double check and make sure it's not just the tint that was scratched. In my case, it was the actual glass.
