That's the rpm I pull on 3.73's at 85 mph in my 04. 32" tall tires, stock pcm tune but Atlas 40 on the ficm. I average 17 mpg at that speed. Speedo is dead on by GPS. I pull similar rpm in the same truck in 4th gear around 70 mph towing the boat and get 12 mpg. But that's all up hill one way too.

For comparison, my 03 tuned the same way and same gears but those 40's, which are actually 38.5" tall, at 70 on the speedo I'm around 1800 rpm but actual speed by GPS is 84 mph. That thing gets 10 mpg empty or towing.

I thought about 4.56's to get back where I should be with my tire size but after seeing what you're pulling with not much smaller of a tire, I think it will be 4.30's. Maybe 4.10's if a tune will get my power where I need it. I agree, with 3.73's and that tall of tire it's no fun to drive unless I'm out on the flat. And even then any little head wind will make it start shifting back and forth.

Granted my trucks are totally different, but engine wise they're the same. So lift and tires have some to do with it, but those high rpm's have to be a big part of it also. I'm usually in 4th gear revving in the 03 on the highway.

Saw this awhile back and thought it was also funny. Not the best pic as I was driving.

The bottom says "Don't Californicate Idaho"

While we were at the game, summers uncle gave us a ride and he has an 05 with stock 17 platinum wheels and tires. At 75 he was dead on the first hash after 2k rpm, and 10psi of boost. So I'm not far off. There was a slight head wind I suppose in that pic because depending on the conditions even when flat I can be at that rpm at 75 and 10-12psi. I run almost identical to what his did on the hour drive as I sat behind him and stared at the gauges lol. 430 are only a different of like 150rpm to 456. I was going to go 430 but they were so much more expensive and at the time I wasnt driving so much. But its already time for another oil change at 95k tomorrow when I get home

I may be a needles width or two above where you are in the 04 at 85 mph but damn near the same. On the boost side of things, I'm under 10 psi unless there is a head wind or I have my enclosed 6x10 trailer behind me, then I'm 15-20 psi. The 03 is never under 12 psi but I'm the opposite of you and need shorter gears, lol.

I put the stock 16" wheels and tires from the 03 on the 04 when I broke one of my wheels and was waiting for my new ones to come in. That made a huge difference in a bad way. Same rpm and speed I run with my 22's but I wasn't even 80 mph on my GPS.

I'm like you, I don't care much about mileage as long as its not an inconvenience. But the lack of power without being up in the rpm in the 03 kills me. If the right gears and tuning will get my lifted pig to drive like my lowered one I'd be happy. But it's not even registered or insured at the moment so it's on the way back burner.

I think you're over-geared, over-tired and over turbo'd for any semblance of good mileage.

Or are we talking about your airbag problem?
and over lifted
also just currious...is your ebp sensor and tube clean?
