I'm 43 and some change now, but 11 is the garage. So 32 of living space. So if I can find a nice bumper pull 9k lb grand design I think that is the route we need to go. We like to use this trailer often but it's a chore my man. Detailing, covering and uncovering, finding parks to fit, and everytime I hook I'm stressing my truck and hunting for fuel stations every 200 miles. I think its just overkill for us and we would get more use and enjoyment from a smaller rig.
But I'm pretty set in stone on staying grand design. I can go down in size, but I cant go down comfort. @Boudah will tell you, once you have a grand design, hard to change lol

He has a Momentum Toy Hauler 5th wheel now. But youíre limited over 35í most places and state parks.

5er isnít always an upgrade. My reflection is just as nice as a 5er except I have less basement space.

Say the if the garage idea was still valid one .

Why a bumper pull with garage vs 5th wheel with garage.

Sent from my LG-H915 using Tapatalk

Causes heís not using the garage. Not everyone wants to pull an 18k 5th wheel or 50+ long.

Ah ok I always thought having a 5th wheel was the sheez, so I am interested in this convo of why and when one is preferred over the other.

5er tows better unles you have a good hitch like a Hensley or a pro pride if a larger bumper pull. But so does a dually over srw.

Mine is standing at 11í2 where most 5er is 13í3 ish / low bridges suck

5er has more basement space esp w a drop frame

But, mind is lighter than the equivalent 5er and I can legally pull it with my F250 and within all payload. Some say yolo n hook a 18k 5er w a 4K payload to their 3/4 ton. Not me.

There is pros n cons to both, just depends what u want. I needed my bed space too
