It would be nice if it could be upgraded to a transponder style key like theones that followed in the 08 models just for theft prevention. My old 2005 Taurus had the transponder key so Ford was already using these type of keys on other models

When my truck was being repaired, after I got it back, after it was stolen, I asked about that. I was told it was virtually impossible and if it could remotely be done it would be ridiculously expensive. So I had them put in a starter kill switch. With the switch in the off position my command start words but the key will not activate the starter. It is at least a little bit too slow someone down I'm thinking of adding a kill switch to the ficm power source. That way even if they jump the starter solenoid underneath the hood it will only crank but not start

Starter kill switches don't work. they only keep the honest thieves from getting your truck. I veteran car thief would be able to bypass that in a matter of seconds and be driving your rig down the road before you know it.

Alarm, in a sense, are a joke, and are just there to keep the honest people from driving off with your rig. The only best way is to remove your FICM relay, but if a thief happens to carry those with him also and realizes that's the reason why it will not start, then he's got your truck anyway.

Yup, but they can trace the wires and just re-splice them. If they know what to look for, and veteran thieves are not idiots. If they want your truck, they'll get it. I'd suggest pulling the engine, set truck up on blocks and pull wheels off., each time you park at a mall or goto bed at night. Thief will move on to next vehicle.

I know a couple trailer parks with individuals that employ that exact same anti theft strategy..... gotta say it works well, those Camaros haven't been stolen in years

Those weren't Camaros. They were KIT cars to look like Camaros. Underneath they are Yugo's and Honda Civics. They couldn't afford Camaros.
