That will depend a lot on the price point for the F-150. If they price it like the Fiat 1/2 ton, it's probably not going to hurt the Superduty sales much. May as well kick in another couple grand and get a real truck.

I was thinking the same thing
but i like the looks of my old antiquated truck beter then the newer style so...
but having one of these as a back up or ... it would be close to the limit for towing our 10k trailer but ...
30 mpg don't sound half bad
i thought only the cummins could deliver 300 mpg cure cancer and deliver babys in an emergency

However, a lot of folks don't want the maintenance costs of a big truck, nor the insurance or registration of a big truck.
A lot more cost factors go into a 250/350 than sticker price and fuel mileage.

And if they price it like the fiat half ton it'll smoke everyone.
My dad just bought a fully loaded 1/2 ton Laramie for 29,800 otd. Mind you it was 2wd, but the 4wd model was only an additional 1500 I believe. But he did not want 4wd anymore living in Florida.

He got a new 1/2 ton Ram Laramie diesel for $30k? If so, they have severely cut the price on them. When I priced them a year or so ago, they wanted right at $40k for a 2wd diesel work truck. The gasser was around $30k, maybe a little less.

Just because you live in Cali where they charge you for everything!! Lol
Probably will start charging you to breath soon.

There is pretty much no difference in insurance and registration costs between the two up here. I won’t say it is exactly the same, but 100-200 a year is not anything to complain about.

I have a trick to get my kid up. I just bought a new tractor with a cab. He thinks it's his, so I just knock on his door in the morning and tell him the cows are yelling for hay and their water tank is frozen again, I guess I'll go out and feed em. By the time I come downstairs, I hear him jumping out of bed and running down behind me. Not sure how much longer this game will work, but it's fun right now.

Vacation, what's that? The kid gets a few days at 4H camp and he gets to do the county fair in the fall.
I kinda remember going on vacation back before we bought the farm. Those days are long gone.
Me and the kid took a couple days last April to go to UCC in Indy. That was the first time I've been away for a couple days. We got to meet some of the guys on here, we had a great time! Planning on going again this year too.

Well the kids have been out of the house for a while but I still don't want anything to tie me to home. I like being able to jump on the Road Glide and go for long rides with the wife and not having to worry about animals to come home to. I just bought the wife a new tractor a couple months ago. Just a little 25 HP subcompact, but it takes care of all our needs on this little place. Got the backhoe mainly for digging Juniper stumps out and running water lines.

Yeah I miss jumping on the bike and being gone every weekend like we did when we first got married.
We bought this farm back in 2000 for a hobby farm and some hunting acreage. Then we turned it into a working farm. I don't mind most of the time, though I'd love to be able to go back to Canada for a week of fishing once a year like we used to be able to do. When it was only horses and cows we could go off for a few days, but now my boy has his 4H goats, and my wife wanted some sheep (dumbest animals ever!) And of course a half dozen Great Pyrenees and Anatolians for guard dogs. There's no more time when everyone can be gone at the same time. My son and me went to UCC and left my wife home for chores but that's about it. I stay home in Sept when they do the county fair. Now my boy is getting older he wants to start showing beef or hogs just because he can make more money when they sell. People pay some stupid money for these kids 4H animals. Works for me though cause he wants to buy the 91 F350 7.3IDI that I bought for our father/son project when he gets his license in 13 months

Nice little Massey, my neighbor has a Mahindra about that size. I have a MF65 I'll be selling, a MF1085 and a MF492 that are my big tractors for hay and such. I just got a 55 HP TYM cab tractor to replace that 65, it's been a good tractor but it's just worn out. It still runs good, but the multi power leaks bad and the front pivot pins bores are gone. I tried to put bushings in it, lol there wasn't any iron left to press them in to. I'm looking forward to pulling the square baler with the new one this summer, listening to some tunes and enjoying the A/C while the kid is sweating on the hay wagon.

I never did get a good pic, this is the day I went and got it.
