Yah I concur!

I can show you my receipts @j.mo for this 6.4. And mine includes my free labor.

And again from a perspective of working on these (all the big 3) all day long. There aint no perfect platform. The 6.7 cummins is the new 6.0 just go look on a 6.7 cummins area of a forum. HG, holes in pistons, broken cranks, windowed blocks....ect. They all have issues. I will say I will laugh loudly about being "too deep into a 6.0" and then taking on a cummins swap. That hole was just the beginning with the 6.0 prepare for china.

Lol. Yeah just thought about that.
But I'm with you. If it's not one thing it's another. They just aren't the reliability I'm looking for. No matter who does the work or how much you spend. Everytime you complete more "bulletproofing" or repairs or maintenance or it runs right, the time bomb clock resets and it's only a matter of time until it runs out again.
Hpo issues, injector issues, ipr, turbo, sensors and wiring, you name it. I've been through it all. I'm throwing in the towel.

Also to note. I have a lot of people come in here that literally quote vehicles as being an investment. You never get out what you put into it. I have no clue why people put dollar signs on a daily. Only thing that will make you money, automobile wise, is buy say a gt40 and put it in a garage for years, covered up, never drive it, drain every ounce of gas out of it, etc.

Troof....

I was going to go the whole 9 with the 6.0 for the ex but I changed my mind. It just needs to function as a daily. Just gonna do a S2 cam. Gonna use it to get around town and tow my boat anyways.

I'm not trying to make money. I'm trying to make the ****ing thing run when I turn the key, not work on it every 3 weeks and hope I can drive it where I don't have cell service because the ****ing thing will break down.

This^^^^^^ is the one reason I will not "upgrade" to aftermarket injectors. There has to be a level of safety built in, since I have no self-control when it comes to the skinny pedal. I differ from many, because I bought my truck new, and have never been stranded until I let some jackass work on my rig. I have never put more miles on a single vehicle, and I have loved it the whole way. I had the FICM, and subsequently 6 injectors warrantied at 50,000. I still have 2 injectors w/260,000 miles. How many people can say that with a Cummins or D-max? Not many, especially with the d-max. Original trans, and I expect to get a few more miles after studs and o-rings. This is just the start for me. The truck doesn't owe me a thing, so I will never sell it. Maybe when I have grandkids, one will get it. This truck has impressed almost any truck guy who has driven or ridden in it. And to think, I considered, and even ordered a Dodge in '06, but after a second test drive, opted out. I doubt I would have been as happy.
