Oil Analysis

I got my first oil analysis back from Blackstone. I think it looks good. They say the iron results are really good. Does anyone know how I can make heads or tails of the report? I thought they would explain more.

I've got a 2005 F350 with 132,500 miles. I've attached the report. Thanks!

At the bottom of the range, but still a 40wt after 5k miles. Very nice results. I really like the TDT oil.

They basically look for any signs of bearing wear (zinc, copper iirc), piston/wall contact (iron), etc. They also look for signs of coolant leaks (water or antifreeze %), fuel not getting burnt or leaking , etc. He's basically just saying that the report doesn't show any signs of problems. Thats what you want to see!

The averages on the right are for your engine type so you can get a good idea of how you stack up.

Great! I used Mobil 1 full synthetic but this time I switched to Rotella T6. Maybe I should switch back? The Magnesium was really high. Is that added lubricant? nismofan240, are you at Langley?
