Tune cutting out

Hi guys,
Iv got an e99 7.3 6 speed with beans tunes on a 6 position ts chip iv been running for about 6-7 years. Truck runs great, other than recently when driving and your on a tune other than stock, the tune will cut out like the chip is losing connection and act like no chip is installed, then cut back in to the higher hp tune. This does not happen on the stock tune. Connection seems to be good and tight down by the ecu. Any ideas? Chip going bad?
Thanks,
Dan

Over the years, vibration takes a toll on connections. If you look at the "edge" connector on the PCM pc board you might have a hard time actually seeing a bad spot. I would re-tin (re-flow) the solder on those pads first (or find someone who has "solder skills" if you don't )

If that "free fix" didn't do it, then maybe replace the 6-pos rotary switch, could be in those contacts too...

Not sure the guy im about to mention is super popular here but... The guy from DP-Tuners used to have a service for the tinning on ecms. May be worth reaching out to him or a local guy if you're not comfortable. The ecms for these 20+ yr old trucks are getting hard to find.

Looks like the re tinning did the trick guys! I had my buddy’s Kevin and Brian over at Fitch Electronics do it. Not sure what the DP guys used to charge but give them a call if you’d in need of this.
