Turbo clamp stuck

Thanks for your help everyone. I'm doing a turbo rebuild and the clamp at the back of the turbo is stuck, I can't remove the turbo until it's off, obviously. Not being able to see anything back there, are there any tricks to the trade to get it off sight unseen?
Thanks!
Jared

I had to torch the nut and replace the clamp.

Soak it with PB blaster, let it sit for awhile, then soak it some more. Then use a long pry bar and it should pop right off.

PS. Order a new clamp

Might I suggest replacing the up pipes if you already haven't, and just wait the fun is only begun, the fun part is putting that clamp back on

I'll let you know but at first thought couldn't be worse than getting it off. What a b**tch!

I can't remember exactly how I did it but I do know that it involved a few pry bars. Im not too mechanically inclined so it took me probably an hour to get it on but getting a new one is no easier!

If the clamp isn't damaged then you can get away with using it again. If in doubt replace it, putting it back on it's a feel thing because you can't see what you are doing. Before you put the turbo back in place the clamp over the collector, and have it where the bolt is not locked into the clamp, the T end of the bolt.

Thanks. I had to leave it undone last night. Will go at it with a fresh head today. Glad I did too because I think I bent the pipe backward slightly trying to get the turbo out. This may explain why I'm having so much difficulty. I'll let you know what I had to do to get it on. I'm thinking maybe a pry bar or tilt the turbo back a little, get the clamp on then fasten the turbo down.
