riffraff aluminum plenum

I have a boost leak at the left intake plenum and was considering the riffraff aluminum plenums but not paying attention well enough i thought $299 for the pair when its each. The price now kinda makes me think twice about installing them and instead just resealing the originals. I would like opinions on this. Are the aluminum ones any advantage?

IMHO For the average guy, the plenum inserts are a good option with the factory plenums. The aluminum ones are pretty, but like you say pricey

I am just the average guy and would rather put that money into a turbo or injector upgrade. reliability is key as we pull a small camper and we don't just hit the local lake.

if you read the wordings and reviews it appears its for a pair of them not just one side etc. You could always call though.

I c that now, i think i was looking at the amount counter where it says 1 but bellow that it does say a pair. Well damn, and i have a tube of the motorcraft sealer on way. I would rather have that viton o'ring than silicone. Thanx for pointing that out, i'll probably go ahead a go that route.

as been said, resealing factories and getting the inserts is the budget friendly option.

I like the aluminum ones as they seal with the o-ring however the supplied bolts are cheap and rust easily. I bought the first gen when they first came out and were considerably cheaper IIRC. For my current project I opted to try the Irate plenums (not installed yet)

if you ever run the CNCfab lines with these plenums; there will be fitment issues. different fittings or removal of the plenums will be necessary. Some notch out the plenums. I opted to use different fittings. as i was not going to take things apart to get the fittings in.

What he said^^^^^^

I really dislike the RR plenums because of this reason. I bought a set of them many years ago and I had to use a die grinder to radius out around where the HPOP fittings are in the head to get them out. As far as the nicest plenums out there, I like Beans design. They look very close to the stock shape. Cheapest route is to get inserts and I have those in stock.
